New Crimp Force Monitoring CARAPIC
The Crimp force monitoring is a crucial process in cable production that ensures the quality and reliability of crimp connections. The monitoring is achieved by comparing the measured force in real-time with a reference and can detect, for example, missing strands or insulation in the crimp connection. A deviation from the learned reference curve triggers an error message from the machine or leads to the cutting of the cable. This ensures that faulty cables cannot be used in further production.
Our new crimp force monitoring system CARAPIC is fully integrated into the machine control system and can be operated intuitively via networked devices. The setting of parameters and the output of measured values via the browser-based interface open up new possibilities for centralized quality management.
The advantages of CARAPIC for the cable production are:
- High measurement accuracy
- Reproducible measurement values
- Quick production changeover
- Flexible configuration of monitoring zones
- Easy extensions and retrofitting
- Comprehensive statistical evaluations
- Easy integration into networks via OPC-UA
