The new programmable crimping machine impresses with extensive advancements and high functionality. The various innovations offer advantages for all phases of cable production, enabling high-quality results to be achieved more easily and quickly than ever before.
The special feature of the ProLine 240 ADVANCED is its high flexibility in cable production, made possible by the servo drives in the stripping unit and the cross-feed. Coupled with the integrated recipe management, this allows for easy switching to predefined productions. The parameters for processing different cable variants are fully stored, such as stripping and zero-cut lengths, as well as the positions for crimping and removing the cable.
The foundation for the excellent crimping results of the ProLine 240 ADVANCED is created by the precise preparation in the stripping unit. For zero-cut and stripping, the machine is equipped with separate blades. This also results in lower operating costs due to longer part lifespans and reduced machine downtime. For quality assurance, the stripping unit is standardly equipped with a bad part cutting function, which is triggered by the optionally integrable crimp force monitoring.
The machine is designed for the use of all common crimping applicators and is equipped with a quick-release mechanism for tool-free clamping of the crimping applicators. The proven handwheel and an additional electric jog mode are included to perform functional and collision checks of the terminal feed and crimping process. The horizontally installed terminal strip chopper allows for easy insertion of the carrier strip, thus simplifying setup. Additionally, potential influences on crimping results due to the redirection of the carrier strip are reliably avoided.
The new ProLine 240 ADVANCED stands out with higher rigidity compared to previous Schäfer crimping machines in this class. This allows for increased precision and quality in cable productions, even with higher press forces or complex applications. The workspace is generously designed for high flexibility during retooling and for individual expansion options.
The control system with a large touchscreen features an intuitive user interface for easy and safe operation of the machine in various languages. The selection of different user roles and operating modes, as well as functions for machine networking, enable flexible and modern process flows.
The safety of the operator during the operation of the crimping machine is ensured by a monitored protective device. Removing protective covers interrupts the electrical safety circuit, halting the processing process. Furthermore, the machine fully complies with European directives regarding mechanical and electrical safety as well as electromagnetic compatibility.
